The marquee tool allows you to move, stretch, rotate, scale, copy and cut a selected portion of your image.
To use the marquee tool, rotate the scroll wheel until the icon is hilighted. Move your cursor to where you would like to begin the marquee and click and hold. Then drag to where the region you would like to select is within the bounds of the marquee and release.
When you release you will notice some boxes will appear along the border of the marquee and that when you pass your cursor over certain regions it will change.
- left/right boxes - moving your cursor over these boxes will cause the "" cursor to appear. Clicking and dragging will allow you to scale the image horizontally
- top/bottom boxes - moving your cursor over these boxes will cause the "" cursor to appear. Clicking and dragging will allow you to scale the image vertically
- corner boxs -moving your cursor over these boxes will cause the "" cursor to appear. Clicking and draging the corner boxes will scale the image both horizontally and vertically
if you move your cursor over the marqueed region the "" cursor will appear. clicking and dragging allows you to move the selected portion of the image around.
NOTE: the space where the image used to reside will be filled with the background color.
When you are finished with the tool, click outside of the marquee or select another tool to deselect the region.
